Caring for a developmentally disabled adult at home is a powerful, loving commitment that encourages a measure of independence in a safe and fulfilling environment. As daily demands take their toll on the caregiver, respite care can reduce the stress and provide the caregiver a needed and well-deserved break.
We meet with families, assess needs and use that information to tailor our services for each family. We can help in a variety of ways, including:
- Joining the developmentally disabled adult on outings to the movies, bowling, shopping and more
- Teaching life skills such as laundry, housecleaning, cooking, budgeting
- Providing companionship with the developmentally disabled adult so care-giving family members can pursue personal interests
- Furnishing transportation to medical appointments
